Back in the stan

I have returned to the place of the suck more commonly known as Afghanistan. This place, for the most part, is just like I remember it. There have only been a few changes and very few of those affect my daily workings. The best part of everything is that we are starting to pack to come home. That is definately a plus.

I apologize for not posting sooner. I don't really have much to post about and when I log on and see the giant white page in front of me, I lose my thought bubble.

The trip back over here was nice. My plane from Tulsa to Atlanta was smooth and calm. I spent about seven hours in Atlanta where I got to see my cousin Garry and my aunt Rhonda. It was good seeing them. They were going to come see us in Oklahoma while I was home on leave, but the snow kept them at bay.

On the flight from Atlanta to Kuwait, I got to sit in the front of the plane with the colonels and sergeant majors. I got a row to myself and I got to stretch out on the plane and I didn't get picked out for any stupid details. That was quite enjoyable.

My day in Kuwait was less than exciting. I slept most of the time and then waited four hours for my flight to Bagram. My flight to Bagram was less than exciting. My day in Bagram was even more less than exciting. I managed to snag a ride to Camp Phoenix at 2330 (1130 for us regular people) and finally got to bed around midnight. However, after all my sleeping at Kuwait and Bagram, I was far from tired.

Camp Phoenix is still Camp Phoenix. It doesn't feel the same, though. I don't know why. Maybe because we're leaving so soon. Who knows.

I'm trying to find things to talk about but right now I don't have any. I mean, I could go on and on about the stupidity over Anna Nicole Smith and her baby drama. And then there is the whole ordeal about the massive number of people running for presidency. But that would require thought to come up with some witty satire and my brain is too tired for that right now. Maybe I'll post all about that tomorrow. Yes, that sounds like a plan.

For now, though, I'm going to talk to my wife.

God is good. All the time.
Peace
