Still alive and kickin

Things are going alright here in Afghanistan. The weather is outstanding, the morale is high, and life is good considering the circumstances.

I am in day three of my boycott of DFAC food, and I haven't been sick once. My diet of toast and peanut butter is doing me some good. I'm getting my carbs and protein so I should be set right? I know, my diet may not be the healthiest around, but its working. I'm feeling better each day. Eventually I will give in and consume what nasty and disgusting dish they will serve, but I have to prep my stomach for that unfortunate day.

Church is tomorrow. I'm excited, but its hard to show through my exhaustion. Maybe exhausted is the wrong word. Its more like just really tired. Most of that is my fault as I haven't been keeping a regular sleep schedule; however, I'm working back into one. Tomorrow is some more good Army training. For those of you that know me quite well (and for those that don't you will learn), you know I hate Army training. So tomorrow isn't such a good event. But I will make the most of it.

Monday I am planning on getting back into my track schedule. The sudden occurance of sickness through me for a loop and I can't really start tomorrow night because of church. Its not an excuse, I promise. I'm going to try and run every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday night. Eventually working up to everyday, doing a little bit each day. I need to shed a few more pounds while I am here even though my beautiful wife would rather me be chunky.

Anyway, early wake up in the morning for this lovely training so off to bed I am. I just ask that you continue to keep my comrades and myself in your prayers. And remember, stay safe but have fun.

God is good. All the time.
Peace
