What the Military Channel on cable does to a person

I don't hate the Army today. I didn't hate the Army yesterday. In fact I didn't hate the Army at all over the weekend, despite having drill on a day I assumed to have off. I even did PT Friday night because I felt bad for letting the Army down. Why? Because the military channel reminded me that not all of the Army is crap. And then drill reminded me how fun it is to be an infantryman. It reminded me of all the times I had in the Stan where I was handling a M240B on a convoy, driving a HMMWV through downtown Kabul, pulling security down a dusty "road" while my buddies were handing out school supplies.

I have had many crappy times in the Army but when I look back on them now they weren't so bad afterall. (I'm sure this happens often in life, when you realize all your complaining was useless and not even unnecessary)

I'm not saying I'm in dire love with the Army and suddenly want to be an Airborne Ranger Green Beret but I want to succeed in the military. Not be fat and maybe get promoted. Like I told Ann, being the lazy Specialist is just too easy.

And I've said it before but I just thought I was crazy from just getting home, but I still miss the war. Apparently this is common.

Mom, stop crying.

In other events, I haven't walked around New York City much. Drill was Saturday, Sunday I lounged in the apartment all day except for my brisk walk to McDonalds across the street from the park, and yesterday it was raining so there was no wandering yesterday either. Tomorrow is supposed to be sunny so I'll get out and stretch my legs (and maybe my puppies' legs as well) and see more of this amazing city.

Sorry about not posting for a few days. No excuses just forgot to log on and throw some stuff up there. Don't worry, I'm not slacking on my duty of having everyone live vicariously through me.

Yous (that's New Yorker for ya'll) are so crazy.

God is good. All the time.
Peace

P.s. I'm thinking of a way to improve my route information on the end of my posts. So far I got nothing.

Brought to you on the Manhattan / 57th St & 7th Ave Q train.
